Section B. Benefits of our Customized Services
Aptitude testing allows an employer to gain valuable performance related information about a potential new hire. This assessment will match a person's aptitude, interest area and work temperaments to the occupation he or she is applying for, based on certain criteria. These criteria are specific to each individual occupation and allow an employer to evaluate a variety of information when considering a new hire.
Listed here are some ways employers can take advantage of these services:
Assessment for Recruitment & Placement
Assessment can provide meaningful and correct job data for considering a new hire or for promoting an employee. The information obtained can give the employer insight into whether an individual is qualified for the job, and can help in decision making.
Assessment for Better Utilization of Workers
Assessment can help determine the actual physical demands of a job. Once these demands are determined, adjustments can be made to develop better utilization of workers with a disability. Assessment can also help in the promotion or transfer of your current employees to new positions by evaluating their current job skills.
Assessment for Job Restructuring
As with better utilization of your workers, job restructuring can help you make better use of your available workforce by helping with the placement of hard-to-fill jobs. This also opens up entry level positions that can provide trainee jobs for new hires.
Assessment & Training
By obtaining information related to a specific job, we can assist with the development of a training program that fits your needs. We can help you choose the content of your training curriculum, the amount of time required for the training, and more.
Assessment for Occupational Safety
Assessment can help improve safety through the identification of job hazards.
Section C. What is Vocational Assessment
The purpose of Vocational Assessment is to help an individual select appropriate and realistic occupational goals, and to identify skills. By assessing a person's basic skills, occupational interests & aptitudes, work attitudes, temperaments and other data, the compiled information can be used to assist the individual in achieving his/her training and employment goals.
The actual Assessment is broken down into sections. Each section is assessed and timed separately, then related scores are combined, giving an "overview" of that area.
State-of-the-art equipment is used to accurately measure various aspects of an individual's manual dexterity, spatial aptitude, and fine motor skills, as well as other areas.
The Manual Dexterity Unit is one of the Assessment tools. An individual is timed on the ability to move the hands skillfully and easily. A high score in this part of the assessment shows mechanical ability, plus the ability to manipulate parts and tools.
The Spatial Aptitude Unit measures the ability to think visually in geometric forms. A high score on this assessment shows an aptitude for the spatial problem-solving involved in such occupations as graphic arts, surveying and drafting.
The Eye-Hand-Foot Coordination Unit measures the ability to coordinate the movement of hands and feet in relation to visual cues. A high score in this area indicates an aptitude for jobs in which such coordination is important: heavy equipment operation, truck driving, and some production operation activities.
